SUMMER LAYERING

The sun’s high, the days are long, the heat builds fast and doesn't ease up until dark - summer fishing tests your endurance, your focus, and your gear. The Desolve Saltwater Summer Layering System is built with that in mind - lightweight, breathable protection that keeps you cool when the sun's relentless, and dry when the humidity climbs.

A good layering system is engineered to work together: a base layer to manage moisture and temperature against your skin, a mid layer for mobility and extra warmth, and an outer layer to block wind and rain when conditions turn. In summer, you'll likely live in the base layer, with the outer layer on standby for when a squall rolls through.

BASE LAYER

Your base layer sits against the skin, managing sweat and temperature so you're comfortable no matter how the day unfolds — especially when the sun’s relentless and the heat doesn’t let up. Desolve’s base layers are ultra-breathable, moisture-wicking, and built to keep you cool, dry, and out there for longer.

CHOOSING YOUR BASE LAYER

MID LAYER

Your mid layer adds warmth and mobility without weighing you down. Hard-wearing, quick-drying, and built to move.

INSULATION

Before sunrise, it's still cold out on the water, even in summer, and spray off the bow makes it worse. This layer holds warmth in without adding bulk, so it's easy to wear on the way out and shed once the sun's up.

OUTER LAYER

Your outer layer earns its keep the moment conditions turn — packable protection that stays out of the way until summer’s squalls catch you out. It's the final barrier in the layering system, locking out the elements without restricting movement.

ACCESSORIES

The details that round out the system — protecting hands, neck, head, and grip so nothing else gets between you and the fish.

FAQ

What should I wear for saltwater fishing in summer? Summer means heat and sun are the main challenges, so a lightweight, UPF-rated base layer is key, with a packable waterproof outer layer on hand for when a squall rolls through.

Do I need sun protection if I'm already wearing a shirt? Not all fabrics block UV the same way — a UPF-rated base layer is built specifically to block harmful rays.

What's the difference between a mid layer and an outer layer in summer? A mid layer adds mobility and light coverage for a day on deck; an outer layer blocks wind and rain when a summer day turns nasty.
